Some like it Hot

Heat therapy*, used alone or in conjunction with other therapies, can be a valuable treatment
for lower back pain. It is also easy and inexpensive.
Heat therapy helps dilate blood vessels in the muscles surrounding the lumbar spine,
which increases the flow of oxygen and nutrients to the muscles and helps heal
damaged tissue. *Heat used externally to relax sore or tight muscles should be used for
no more that about 30 minutes at a time. You don’t want the body to overheat,
give yourself some time to come back to body
temperature prior to heating the area again.
